The sessions were very crowded, but everyone seeme do be really interested. It was hard to get up for anything during a session, including water, which was hard on me, but I survived. :-)<br />Last night was the World Faire. The room seemed larger than ones in the past so it was easier to negotiate. There were some beautiful handcrafted items for sale! Colorful purses and tote bags from Guatamala, always a popular table. The Asian Countries had beautiful dolls, purses, place mats, and too much to describe. A lot of tables gave away small items like coins, stamps, even seeds. There were so many wonderful breastfeeding items it was impossible to make choices, and lost the chance to buy some items because I hesitated!<br />This morning I was blessed with the chance to act as hostess in the Founders' Lounge. Mary Ann Kerwin, and Betty Wagner Spandilow were wonderfully gracious to the mothers who attended. The first excitment was visiting a friend in a building that had a fire alarm go off. We all got to stand in the pouring rain waiting for the fire truck.<br />My dh is attending the Physician's Conference while we go sight seeing. Today we are going to the Folk Festival in the Mall.<br />The hotel is full of LLL people already, and the regular conference hasn't even started. It is really getting exciting. Packing is almost done. The boys, ages 8 and 11 loved that, I'll tell you! ;-)<br />Tomorrow I will try to start packing. I am trying to carefully decide my priorities. How much can I get done before we leave. What is most important, finishing up previuos LLL work, or preparing for the conference. <br />Trying to keep Alex, 11, from taking everything he owns will be another challenge. <br />We are getting excited about spending July 4 in Washington DC. We are leaving on Saturday to do some traveling and sightseeing before we arrive in DC. I am trying to make lists of what I need to do before we leave, like pay bills, change my answering machine, etc. and what I need to remember to bring. My 11 year old son has multiple life threatening food allergies, so extra preparations are necessary. I need to make information cards, pack plenty of food he can eat, and make sure we have plenty of epinephrine in case of a reaction.<br />I have new rolling suitcases-bright pink! I have been a LLL Leader for 27 years. I have 5 children, ranging in age from 8 years to 31 years.<br /> I love LLLI conferences! I guess you could say I am a conference junkie. In 1979 the LLLI conference was in Atlanta, Georgia, about 100 miles from my home, so I was asked to work on the conference committee. Even though I was unable to attend any sessions, I fell in love with the atmosphere, and wanted to go to the next one. It quickly became addictive and I have found a way to attend every LLLI Conference since 1979!<br /> Attending this one will be my dh and 2 youngest sons, and daughter. We are very excited!
